Long Version

What do I do?
I am a former management consultant. Management consulting can mean a lot of things, but basically, what I'm good at, is finding new (read cheaper, better, faster) ways to do things. I've worked on projects to cut costs, improve efficiency, improve customer service, technology implementations, strategy reviews, new business, M&A, joint-ventures etc. I truly enjoy helping companies (either big or small) become better and thats typically what I spend my time doing.
Lately I've spent more and more time consulting and advising small companies and startups. I'm a non-programmer (though I do have some basic experience/skills) so I help programming founders with all the pieces of their idea so that they can focus on the coding. Whether that is basic UI/UX work, communications, marketing, managing programmers, financial modeling or building and assisting with pitch presentations.
Why?
Part of my process is constantly learning. One of the best ways to learn is to share, because you really have to understand something in all its complexities in order to explain it simply, concisely and effectively. Its cyclical, the more I learn, the more I share, theoretically the better I get, the more I can help, the more I can help the more I need to learn and so on.
Interesting things I find on the web
I read stuff from all over, and whenever I find anything particularly interesting I will post it to my links blog: Snippets & Quips, or twitter etc. If I've found it interesting you can find it here. For this I keep the commentary pretty succinct focusing on the data/articles so please, feel free to add the RSS feed and you'll get a little daily dose of some of the things that cross my path.
